ARTIST STATEMENT
I’ve had a passion for art since early childhood. After spending many years visiting museums to study the works of the old masters you get to see their devotion - time and energy in order to produce a work of enduring quality. Look around at the great museums and see what stands the test of time, its works that people can relate to and understand.
I believe that in order to create a great painting an artist must pay close attention to the composition, plus meticulous attention to the use of light and devotion to the application of pigments. I find great inspiration for all of my paintings just from the movement of light and shadows that reveal all of the details and evoke a pleasing combination of form and value.
Most of my paintings come from the people that I have met, or ideas from literature, I like telling a story with my works in order for it to have some type of meaning. If you are going to execute quality paintings, it requires a lot of study, work and sensitivity.
I feel that it’s important that every artist should try and accomplish his or her highest level of excellence. It is my hope that everyone will see beauty and all of my attention to detail in each painting.
